In 2021, Margot Wehbe initiated this transformative journey as a university project, recognizing the environmental repercussions of non-recyclable chips and chocolate wraps. By shifting her perspecitive on non-recyclable waste, Margot’s solution was simple yet revolutionary.

What started as an academic endeavor swiftly evolved into a venture that resonated with many. Securing a grant under Safir, an EU-funded project, became a catalyst for our growth and extended reach.

UWYTA has since grown to be an agent of change making waves in Lebanon and beyond. By 2023, it achieved a significant milestone with the acquisition of its dedicated space. Going beyond addressing multilayered plastic challenges, we broadened our focus to include fabric waste, amplifying our positive impact on the environment.
